Setting Up A Pulsa Link & Mediator Board For Cyl Tel 5 Volt Units

For Cyl-Tel units, if the device is being powered by battery only, you will need to use an Active Link (not passive) and a mediator board.

For Cyl-Tel Units where the device is operating via Wall/AC Power, you will only need to connect the Cyl Tel unit to a Pulsa Passive Link.

You Will Need:

  • Cyl Tel 5 Volt Unit
  • Pulsa Link 0-5V (Not Passive)
  • Pulsa Mediator Board
  • Pulsa Pigtail Connector
1

Remove the Cyl Tel Faceplate

Remove the Data Online Faceplate to reveal the device's faceplate/circuit board.

2

Remove connections to the Cyl Tel Faceplate

Remove the DP Sensor connection (Labeled J10). Make sure that there are no other connections for AC/DC power connected to the Cyl Tel Box (J19).

3

Attach Connector to Link and Insert the link connector end into the Data Online Box

Attach the pigtail connector to the Pulsa 0-5 volt Link. Insert the opposite link connector end into the Cyl Tel box.

4

Connect the Mediator Board to the Pulsa Link

On the mediator board, locate the wire group labeled 'Pulsa Link 5V'. Use a small screwdriver or flathead to open up and clamp down to connect the wires from the pigtail connector here. Use the insulation on the wires of the mediator board as a reference for where to connect the pigtail connectors.

5

Connect the Mediator Board to the Cyl Tel DP Sensor

In the Cyl Tel Unit, locate the wire connector for the DP sensor. Depending on the sensor type, this female connector will attach to the male connector on either the 'Cyl Tel A' or 'Cyl Tel B' wire group of the mediator board. Attach it to the appropriate male connector.

6

Connect the Mediator Board to the Cyl Tel Circuit Board

Insert the remaining female connector in the wire group into either the male 'J21' or 'J23' connector on the Cyl Tel circuit board.

7

Connect the Power to the Data Online Unit

Re-attach either the battery or AC power connection to the Data Online box to power the unit.

*Note: Only Connect one source of power. Leave the other power source's connector unattached.

8

Close the Cyl Tel Unit

Close the Cyl Tel unit with the Pulsa mediator board and wires inside. Confirm that the unit powers on. If the unit does not power on, you may need to replace the batteries on the Cyl Tel Unit.

9

Attach the Pulsa Link to the side of the Cyl Tel Unit.

Use double-sided tape or another method to attach the link to the side of the unit. Do NOT leave the link hanging without securing it to anything.

10

Set Up Pulsa Link

Ensure that the Cyl Tel Unit is on and set up the Pulsa Link on the dashboard to confirm measures.
