Frontier upgrade for dpw200

‎‎

Check out our plug and play solution to upgrade your dataonline dwp200 unit to the Pulsa Frontier - while still keeping the display functional!‎

Materials Needed

Pulsa Frontier

  • a pigtail and mediator board for every sensor we’ll be upgrading*
  • a phillips head screwdriver
  • a magnet kit is optional but nice to have for an even easier mounting solution
  • a functional data online unit

*if your dataonline unit has both a differential and headspace sensor, two pigtails and two connectors will be required. One pigtail and one connector for each sensor.

Installation

1

Open the faceplate and disconnect the data online sensor

  • Open the faceplate to access the dataonline sensor and faceplate
  • Disconnect the wire coming from the dataonline sensor, going to the faceplate
2

Connect Pulsa's mediator board

  • Confirm the mediator board connectors need for your unit (0-5v or 4-20mA). If unsure, we can match up the connectors to what is seen in the existing data online unit, or reference the faceplate board
  • Connect the mediator board to the data online faceplate and to the dataonline sensor

3

Connect the Frontier pigtail to the mediator board

  • Use an available port to thread the pigtail connector inside the data online box*
  • Take the other side of the mediator board - matching the input source used as before, 0-5V or 4-20mA - that contains 4 ports
  • Wire the connectors from the pigtail in the order that corresponds with the original dataonline sensor
  • Reference the wire key included in your upgrade kit, or shown in this guide

*if an opening might not be available, drilling a small hole for the connector and adding a gland to waterproof the opening may be required.

4

Secure connections and reassemble the dataonline box

Confirm all connections are secure

Neatly arrange the mediator board and the pigtail connector inside of the dataonline box in to securely close and tighten the dataonline lid

5

Prepare the magnet mounting kit - Optional

If using the magnet mounting kit, prepare your kit by securing magnets to either side of your Frontier using the provided screws

Hardware Registration

1

Register your new Frontier using the Pulsa App

  • Login to your Pulsa App and add the Frontier to your account by manually adding, or using the Pulsa App scanner
  • Follow the prompts on the setup screen to successfully register and configure your new Pulsa Frontier

If you require a Pulsa account or require access to register the device to your company, contact a Billing Administrator or User Manager within your organization

Confirming a Successful Installation

1

Frontier Validation

To validate your hardware is being seen by the Pulsa app/ dashboard, confirm your Frontier displays a green circle in the top right corner of the screen, and displays a "last seen time"

To validate your measures are accurate, confirm the measures received match the gauge on site

Lastly, confirm your data online unit is functioning as before and is providing an accurate measure

Improper installation will result in a lack of measures or inaccurate measures
