Using "Problems" To Troubleshoot Sensors

View 'Problems' on your Pulsa dashboard to easily manage your problem sensors.

Click on the yellow exclamation mark on your dashboard to view problems.

This filtered view will include sensors that have never been seen, are lacking a location, require configuration or have been missing for an extended amount of time. Tap away unwanted filters to view a specific issue.

Never Seen

Problem:

  • Sensor missing: Your sensor has never produced any readings

Possible causes/solutions:

  • Your gateway or sensor is in a poor location. Ensure your sensor is in line of sight with your gateway. Ensure there are no barriers between the gateway and sensor(s). Including metal/ brick walls, or metal enclosures.
  • Gateway connectivity issues. Your gateway must display a solid green light in order for sensor readings to appear on the dashboard. If your gateway lights are flashing, you have a red light, or there are no lights, visit Troubleshooting cell and solar gateway connectivity to further diagnose the issue

Location Unknown

Problem:

  • Location unknown: There is no location assigned to your gateway

Possible causes/solutions:

  • Your gateway does not have a physical address assigned to it. Create or select a new location to assign to your gateway. For more information, visit Updating a gateway's location

Problem:

  • Gateway not set up: Your gateway has not yet been initialized.

Possible causes/solutions:

  • If you do not see a gateway ID below Location, your gateway has not been initialized. For instructions on initializing your gateway, visit Gateway registration

Requires Configuration

Problem:

  • Requires Taring

Possible causes/solutions:

  • Under manage sensor, follow the prompts to tare your weight tile. Once tared, your sensor will be ready to connect to product and start tracking

Problem:

  • Requires platforms

Possible causes/solutions:

  • Under manage sensor, follow the prompts to enter your platform(s). The platform number will be located on one of the sides of your weight tile

Missing

Problem:

  • Last seen N hours ago: Your sensor has not been seen for an extended amount of time

Possible causes/solutions:

  • Your gateway or sensor is in a poor location. Ensure your sensor is in line of sight with your gateway. Ensure there are no barriers between the gateway and sensor(s). Including metal/ brick walls, or metal enclosures.
  • Gateway connectivity issues. Your gateway must display a solid green light in order for sensor readings to appear on the dashboard. If your gateway lights are flashing, you have a red light, or there are no lights, visit Understanding cellular gateway lights to further diagnose the issue
