Power Action: Change Sensor Smoothing

Need to adjust how sensor data is averaged or displayed? The Change Sensor Smoothing Power action lets you update the smoothing period for multiple sensors at the same time. This is especially helpful when standardizing how sensor data appears in dashboards or when troubleshooting data noise. Follow the steps below to update smoothing settings in bulk.

1

Select the Sensors You Would like to Update

  • Navigate to the Sensors page and use the checkboxes to select one or more sensors you want to update.
  • Once sensors are selected, the command palette appears at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click on the Manage button.
2

Change Sensor Smoothing

  • From the dropdown, select Change Sensor Smoothing.
  • In the configuration panel, open the Smoothing Period dropdown.
  • Choose your desired smoothing interval. Common options include:
     • Hourly
     • Four Hourly
     • Daily
     • Weekly
     • Monthly

(Available options may vary based on sensor type.)

  • Click Next to verify which sensors can apply this change.
  • Click Confirm to update the smoothing setting across all compatible sensors.
  • Once the update is complete, your sensor list will refresh and the new smoothing settings will be applied.

Nice work! You’ve just updated smoothing across multiple sensors. To discover the rest of the available bulk tools, visit the Power Actions Overview page.
